The Jungle Book is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Giancarlo Espostio, Christopher Walken, Scarlett Johansson and introducing Neel Sethi, and re tells the story of the classic book/film about a young boy who is forced to leave the jungle and return to man kind after a threat made by big bad Shere Khan.
Another successful live action film achieved by Disney. This was a wonderful, heart warming, re lived tell told by disney based on the classic book from Rudyard Kipling, my heart sank in nearly every scene as it was so cheerful and, well, lovely. Everything was great about this film, It had an impressive amount of action, with various crumbling ruins and some fairly destructive mudslides it made for an enjoyable experience. Along with some superior voice acting from Kingsley as Bagheera who made a soft, loving atmosphere arise in the form of a superiorly powerful panther. As well as Elba as Shere Khan who was truly terrifying as a beastly lion, who had a menacing quarrel with the whole of the animal kingdom. I would also like to mention how nice it was to have an actual scary villain, personally this was the best villain since last summer's Mission Impossible Rouge Nation with Sean Harris as Solomon Lane, I mean, It was very tense and threatening to watch whenever he was on screen, and I loved it! Whoever cast Bill Murray as Baloo was having some sort of brain wave, because this was an amazing casting choice,he was cool as a cucumber and had a whole lot of courage. This was the most fun I have had with a character for a while and, him just being on screen made me smile. The cinematography was immaculate and so was the visual effects, my goodness this was stunning. I can't begin to describe the detail and the perfection of the film, I couldn't believe that it was part animated. A special mention to Neel Sethi who was a nice introduction to the world of cinema. His acting was very impressive for his age, he worked differently with each character which was amazing as he was the only real thing in the entire making of the film! The chemistry between him and Baloo was perfect, and his relationship with Bagheera was just lovely. Whilst it was a tad slow in some places and I would have liked to have seen more from Kaa and King Louis as they both had very interesting scenes. But for it's immaculate cinematography and special effects ewiht some wonderful voice acting. I am going to give The Jungle Book: 9.3/10
