Star Trek Beyond is directed by Justin Lin and stars Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban and Zachary Quinto. This is the third instalment of the new Star Trek series and this time, we see the crew of the USS Enterprise shipwrecked on a planet in uncharted space, whilst they try to find each other they are all faced with their greatest threat yet, The Mighty Krall. For a non Star Trek fan this film is really enjoyable. Justin Lin once again has proved that he is able to direct a very fun film with some amazing special special effects like his work in the Fast and Furious films. I enjoyed how fast pace the film was, it was definitely hard to get bored, even the script was quick and snappy it sort of made one liners come naturally to each character. The scene in which the Enterprise was torn apart was an example of some of the best special effects out there, it was a big, loud, and enjoyably spectacular. Other scenes throughout the film as well had some pretty amazing effects, it was very special it was like all the magic from the original TV programs and films was brought to life by modern day CGI. I personally think this film would be fantastic for die hard Star Trek fans. Every performance was spot on, every character interacted with each other they were all very different but had the same views which were very important in more serious scenes like when the crew had to rejoin to stop Krall. There are very few things wrong with the film. The plot was okay, pretty basic and didn't have any exciting plot twists like it did in the previous film Star Trek Into Darkness, there isn't anything bad about it, it's just sad it didn't have a more clever spin to it, but since Simon Pegg co wrote it, it had a more comedic element to it. Idris Elba is an extremely talented actor but there wasn't anything special about him as the main villain, the film advertised he was there greatest enemy yet, but very much like Oscar Issac as Apocalypse didn't pose much of a threat. With a different aim 'Krall' would have seemed more villainous. The only other problem was the camera work some scenes were amazing but in some of the fight scenes the camera was kind of jammy and confusing to follow. It was also really dark in one part and didn't manage to lighten up and since the scene latest about 15 minutes I had to mention it in the review as I couldn't really see anything at all for a while. The film in itself isn't oscar worthy but it is a great time and a really fun film with admirable special effects and a respectable homage to the original Television. I am going to give Star Trek Beyond: 7.7/10 RIP Anton Yelchin (1989-2016)
A talented young spirit gone way before his time.

hanks for sharing the artisccle, and more importantly, your personal experience mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
